Nursing Assistant - Certified & Careers in Healthcare

Congratulations on your interest to participate in the Nursing Assistant-Certified in person or Careers in Healthcare On-Line programs. The Colton-Redlands-Yucaipa ROP is happy to be able to offer these programs. You are opening the door to a very rewarding experience and first steps to your future career in nursing or the medical field.
The registration process will confirm that you are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in your chosen program. Please review the enrollment procedures and application process. All registration requirements must be completed before the start of your program. If you have any questions, please call (909) 793-3115 Ext. 504.

Nursing Assistant-Certified Prerequisite: Careers in Healthcare

This course is offered to students who have not taken a medical pathway course at their high school.

Last day of recruitment: February 2, 2022
Complete registration into class by meeting with your Career Readiness Specialist who can be found in the school’s Career Center or see your counselor.
Program Runs from Feb. 7, 2022- May 6, 2022
This class can be used for the prerequisite for the Nursing Assistant -Certified program if you have not taken another CRY-ROP medical pathway program at your high school.

The Nursing Assistant-Certified Spring program will be held at Colton Adult School, located at 18829 Orange Street, Bloomington.

To Register for the High School Nursing Assistant-Certified Program

Registration Instructions:
Step 1:  Contact the Career Readiness Specialist at your school to receive a recommendation to apply for the program or call our Student Services office at (909) 793-3115 extension: 504.
Complete the Application and upload your resume.  Fill out application here: Nursing Assistant-Certified Application. Deadline to submit your completed application: Feb. 14, 2022, by 3:00 pm. All applications must be complete or they will not be considered.
Step 2:  On Feb. 16, 2022 applications will be scored and candidates will be contacted via email. Candidates should accept the invitation by responding to the acceptance email.
Step 3:  Acceptance emails will be sent to the candidates selected on Feb. 18, 2022.
In addition to the acceptance email, all candidates will receive emails from our registration system “Orbund” and candidates will complete the registration forms required to register into the program. Watch for the forms and if you have questions please contact the Student Services office at (909) 793-3115 extension 504.
Step 4: All accepted candidates must attend an Orientation meeting with their parent or guardian. The orientation meetings will be held on: Feb 23 at 5:00 pm or Feb 24, at 6:00 pm in person.
Once you have been accepted into the program you will be required to have a physical, TB screening and COVD-19 vaccination (S) including booster if you qualify. Students may submit a declination for religious or medical reasons. DO NOT do this step until you have been accepted. We will include the required forms in your acceptance email notification.
Other dates to keep in mind:
  • Feb. 28, 2022, is the first day of class
  • Fingerprinting is usually on the second day of class. All students will be required to bring their original social security card and their legal, current ID to class to be fingerprinted. Anyone not bringing in the required forms of ID will be dropped from the program.
All students will have to bring their original social security card or right to work document as well as their current, legal ID on the second day of class to complete the fingerprinting process.

The Nursing Assistant-Certified program will be offered to high school students at
  • Redlands High School serving students from RUSD & YCJUSD
  • Colton Adult School serving students from CJUSD
These programs are only available to students entering the 12th grade who have taken a Medical Pathway program or the Career Healthcare program, meet the requirements, and are selected through the competitive application process.
